Autumn 2015 Makeup Trends – The Natural and Organic Way!

Autumn-makeup-trends-organic-beauty

With Autumn just around the corner here in the UK, now is the time to start thinking about switching up your makeup routine to fit in with the season. Autumn in the UK usually means grey skies and A LOT more rain (although we still get a fair amount in the summer months too!)

It is nice to still inject a bit of warmth and colour into our makeup looks around this time of year. Plums, reds, oranges, purples and burgundy’s all make perfect colours to wear at this time of year to lift our spirits and warm the complexion.

You can stay on trend with the season, and still opt for natural and organic products with these options:

90’s Red Lip

90's-Red-LipA 90’s red lip means a dark brick red, think grunge, think Courtney Love in her hay day or Gwen Stefani in No Doubt’s Don’t Speak music video. This colour is perfect for autumn and is making a comeback after being seen on the models for Dolce and Gabbana and Carolina Herrera this season. It’s a perfect look for an evening when paired with a simple eye look, using browns, black or greys. Get the look with ZAO Makeup ‘465 Dark Red’.

Black Liner

black-winged-linerAnother classic trend that will never go out of style. Whether you opt for a kohl pencil for a smudged, smokey look, or go for a graphic liner for that winged, cat eye effect, you can guarantee you will be on trend. This look is also very versatile, and be worn with any colour of blush or lipstick, pair it with a nude lip and peach blush for a fresh and sophisticated autumn look.
Our favourite organic liquid liner is the ZAO Makeup Liquid Liner.

Warm Blush

Warm-blush-autumn-trendThe autumn and winter months are when our skin is usually at its palest and looking a little dull. To give our skin a little boost and inject some colour back into it, go for a warm peach blush, to warm up the complexion. This will be sure to bring back that glow and provide that much needed warmth to the skin in the coldest months of the year. We love Couleur Caramel blush in ‘Peach’. This colour suits pale to medium skin tones, and looks great with a soft, eye makeup look and a peach nude lip.

Gothic Lip

vampire-lipsMany of this season’s looks seemed to be inspired by looks from the 90’s. The gothic trend was popular in the 90’s, and has followed us right through to the current day. Black and dark purple lipstick was seen on the runway for this season, but for a more wearable look, opt for a very simple eye makeup of a warm toned eyeshadow such as Couleur Caramel ‘003 Chocolate Brown’ and mascara, paired with a burgundy lip, we love ZAO Makeup Lip Polish in ‘Burgundy’.

Smoky Eye

smokey-eye-autumnEveryone can wear a smoky eye, it’s just about learning how to wear it for your eye shape. The classic colours for a smoky eye, are browns, and blacks, but why not be a bit more daring and go for a purple/pink smokey eye for your next evening out? Wear it with a natural lip colour so don’t feel too ‘made up’ or have too many colours going on. We love ZAO Makeup Eyeshadow in ‘Ruby Red’ for a smoky eye with a difference. Wear with Living Nature pencil in ‘Midnight’ along the lash line to define the eyes.
