A Romantic, Smoky Eye for Valentines Day
Here is the second look of our Valentines Day makeup look series. You can see the more natural look we created here. This look is much more ‘glam’, featuring a metallic smoky eye with grey and pearly white tones, not for those who prefer to keep things minimal. But why not push outside your comfort zone and give this one try?!

Look 2 – Romantic, Smoky Eye
This look’s main focus is the eyes, whilst keeping everything else minimal and nude. The metallic grey is really flattering on all skin tones, and is highlighted with a pearly white in the inner corner to make the eyes dazzle. Follow these steps to create the look yourself.
Step 1. – The Base
The skin has been kept nice and dewy for this look to keep the look fresh with the heavier eye makeup. Make sure your skin is well prepped and moisturised, then apply the NUI Cosmetics Liquid Foundation all over with the Ere Perez Vegan Multipurpose Brush. Spot conceal on any blemishes and hide dark circles with the Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer, then blend into the skin with a clean finger. Set everything in place with a dusting of the NUI Cosmetics Natural Setting Powder onto the T-Zone using the Ere Perez Vegan Blush and Bronze Brush. Make sure you also set the concealer underneath the eyes, and leave the cheeks free from powder as you want to ensure you are maintaining that ‘glow’.
Step 2. – The Eyes
Start by prepping the eyelid with the ZAO Makeup Eye Primer. This is an important step to ensure the eyeshadow stays put and doesn’t crease or smudge. Next apply the ZAO Pearly Eyeshadow in 110 Metal Grey to the outer 2 thirds of the eyelid. Start in the centre of the lid and blend the colour outwards. Use the ‘Blend’ side of the Ere Perez Line and Blend Brush to make sure there are no harsh edges and the eyeshadow looks soft. The more you blend the better this will look!
Then apply the shade 101 Pearly White to the inner corners of the eyes and blend into the rest of the grey eyeshadow. To line the eyes, use the Ere Perez Jojoba Pencil in Stone and scribble this along the top lash line, then blend with a brush to soften the line. Apply this to the bottom lash line and smudge for a really flattering smoky effect.
Finish with 2 coats of NUI Cosmetics Mascara in Pango and thats the eyes finished!
Step 3. – The Cheeks & Lips
A soft pink looks great with a grey smoky eye, so we used the Ere Perez Carrot Colour Pot in Harmony on both the cheeks and lips. This creamy formula can be used with fingers, and just a small amount is needed to add a pop of healthy, fresh colour. Starting on the apples of the cheeks, blend outwards and upwards, blending the colour into the skin to make it look like you have a natural flush. Then using the Ere Perez Lip and Conceal Brush, apply the same colour to the lips. This colour provides a small amount of shine so your pout will look and feel nourished and healthy.
