Get The Look: Rusty Copper Autumn Look with Organic Makeup

It’s time to start digging out those Autumnal colours ready for a new season! Whilst I adore summer, I do love this time of year because I get to play around with colours that suit this beautiful season. Autumn has always been about rusty oranges, reds and warm browns, so I thought I would create a look using some of the lovely eyeshadow colours we have available. I’ve used a variety of brands to create this look – Hynt Beauty, Nude & Noir and Nui Cosmetics. I have created a step by step guide so you copy the look at home. This is quite a full on look so it would definitely be more suitable to an evening out. You could tone it down slightly by just following step 1 and adding mascara, or choosing a more subtle lip colour.

Step 1

To create a base all over the eye, apply the shade ‘Amber’ in the ‘Bijou’ palette from Nude & Noir Cosmetics (top right shade), with a clean finger, all over the eyelid. The creamy texture is easy to blend and creates a good base to use underneath powder eyeshadows. Blend the edges away with a blending brush to soften the look.

Step 2

Add more colour and depth with the middle shade from the Hynt Beauty Suite Eyeshadow palette ‘Sweet Canyon’. This beautiful rusty shade has a slight shimmer to it and helps add depth to the eyes. Blend this into the crease of the eye with a soft, fluffy eyeshadow brush, and take it underneath the lower lash line.

Step 3

Add more depth and definition to the look with the matte brown shade from the Sweet Canyon palette. Use a small crease eyeshadow brush for this and blend it into a sideways triangle shape along the crease line about half way along towards the inner corner and under the lower lash line.

Step 4

Finish the eyes with two coats of the Nui Cosmetics mascara in ‘Pango’ (black). You want to ensure the lashes look thick and volumised with these eyeshadow colours so I would suggest using a black colour over brown. I also lined the top waterline with a black pencil from Hynt Beauty to give the appearance of thicker lashes.

Step 5

For the cheeks I used the Nui Cosmetics cream tint in ‘Karamere’. This gives the cheeks a natural flush of peach to balance out the look. I would avoid too much colours on the cheeks for this look and keep the focus on the eyes and lips. I also added a little highlighter using the cream tint in shade ‘Mawhero‘. For lips, I chose the Axiology lip crayon in ‘Keen’. I adore this bright, reddish orange, it perfectly compliments the colours I’ve used on the eyes and makes your pout really stand out! The finish is completely matte without feeling drying on the lips, and it’s also really long lasting so is great when you want to look polished and ‘done’ when out and about without time to touch up.

Base and Brows

For the foundation I used Nui Cosmetics Liquid Foundation in shade Taiao. This has a lightweight texture and natural finish but covers imperfections well. To conceal blemishes, dark circles and acne scarring, I used the Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer, which is by far our best selling concealer for it rich pigment and ability to conceal pretty much anything! Only a tiny amount of this concealer is needed as it has a thick formula and full coverage finish, so go easy.

For brows, I used the Nui Cosmetics Brow Sculpt in ‘Reo’ with an angled brush. This is the perfect shade for my ash brunette hair.
